Troubleshooting & Repairs

What is causing my power on the dock to shut off?

First, make sure no one is swimming around the dock. Next, inform everyone of the conditions and quickly move off the dock. Based on your comfort level with electricity and if proper tools are available, try to diagnose the electrical problem yourself. You can do this based on how the alarm sounded:

  • Did it sound only until the power was shut off? – this points to an electrical problem with your dock wiring.
  • Did the alarm continue sounding even after your dock power was tripped? – this means your electrical power problem is coming from the water.
In either condition, it’s important to take this situation seriously. We also recommend calling your Dock Electrician and scheduling a full dock electrical checkup.
How do I know if my unit is working?

Each unit has a defined test procedure in order to know if it is functioning properly. For directions, please consult the product’s manual.

Who do I call for repair?

DockIQ product support can be handled by your dealer or directly with DockIQ.

Cameras & Motion Sensors

How high should my camera be mounted?

The camera should be mounted high enough where walking on the dock would not inhibit the camera from taking clear pictures. We suggest mounting the camera in a location and testing the camera location by taking pictures to confirm it’s showing the section of your dock you want. If not, move it and retest.

Can I use my own camera?

The DockIQ platform only supports the use of DockIQ cameras.

Can I add more cameras with included motion sensors?

The DockIQ platform supports the installation of multiple cameras. The DockIQ mobile app is required in order to install new cameras. You will need to scan the QR code of the new camera. Once a camera is added, you can rename it in the app to more easily identify where images are coming.

Electrical & Power

What products need AC power on the Dock?

ShockIQ, DockIQ, the DockIQ Cameras, and the Boat GPS devices require 110vac power. Please consult the product manuals for the actual install steps and required amperage .
